Pufuleti is one of the best-kept secrets of Italo-German underground rap. Having emigrated to Germany at just four years old, the artist (who works as a nurse in everyday life) has turned his cultural duality into a unique trademark. After taking his first steps in German under the alias Joe Space, in 2019 he was reborn as Pufuleti, drawing the attention of critics and leading labels such as La Tempesta Dischi thanks to cult albums like Tumbulata (2019) and Catarsi Aiwa Maxibon (2020), followed by avant-garde projects such as RAMMBOCK and Gotico Romanzo. His style is a genuine “linguistic cubism”: a surreal collage in which Sicilian dialect collides with German grammar and 1990s Italian advertising, all rapped over dark, lo-fi beats with a deeply nostalgic, experimental atmosphere.
